Requirements: The requirements for this program vary depending on the age and physical abilities of the participant. It is essential that the participant demonstrate the ability, or be close to doing so, to perform all of the required dives on a competition list for their age group, at 1m and 3m.  The progression of the athlete in the different groups is made by the coach and the coaching committee of ARO, Club de Plongeon de Québec.

Getting started with Competition

This program focuses on the long-term development of the athlete with the aim of promoting the maximum development of their diving potential. At this level, the diver continues to learn how to train and even if the pleasure remains important, the learning becomes even more specific. With the help of their coach, the athlete is called upon to set goals and develop an action plan to achieve them.

This program is aimed at diver who demonstrates good diving skills, who wishes to train more and compete at the local, regional, junior, provincial, national and even international levels. In this program, the diver is encouraged to give their best in each training session.

The emphasis is placed on 1 meter, 3 meter springboards and gradually on platforms. The athlete does physical conditioning and uses dry equipment such as the trampoline and the dry springboard to promote his technical learning and complete his training. Other types of complementary training can also be added to the athlete’s program (flexibility, yoga, mental preparation, etc.)

Being in a competitive group means more training and introduction to competitive diving.
